Defining Workflow process
Workflow by itself is the definition, execution and automation of business processes in which the tasks, information and documents are passed through one person to another for specific actions in accordance with pre-set procedural rules. The workflow process involves work by one or more people that transform materials, information or services.
The different types of workflow depend upon the environment, application and usage of electronic document management system (EDMS). Usually in manual workflow, user views the documents and sends to the concerned person. In rules-based workflow, the administrator creates rules for the flow of documents. However, in Dynamic rules allow for branches to be created in a workflow process.
